On this page
A site that teaches strategy owes its readers one plain statement first: strategy does not turn gaming into income. Fantasy contests, card tables and chance games are entertainment with a cost, and over time most players pay it. Playing responsibly means deciding that cost yourself, in advance.
Who should not play
- Anyone under 18. Real-money gaming is for adults only.
- Anyone in a place where it is restricted. Indian states do not all treat real-money gaming alike, and the rules are revised from time to time, so find out what applies where you live.
- Anyone using money needed for something else, or borrowed money.
- Anyone hoping to solve a money problem by winning.
Limits to set before a session
- Money: a fixed amount for the session, taken from a monthly figure you can afford to lose. The bankroll page shows the sums.
- Time: a timer, because fast rounds hide the clock.
- State of mind: not when angry, low, tired or after drinking.
- Rewards: a bonus, a VIP level or the race is never a reason for an extra deposit.
Warning signs
- Spending more money or time than you planned, again and again.
- Staking more, or adding money, to recover what you have lost.
- Borrowing, or selling belongings, to play.
- Hiding how much you play from your family.
- Getting edgy or short-tempered on days without play.
One of these is a reason to stop for a while. Several are a reason to talk to someone.
Where to find help
- Tell a person you trust what is happening. It is the hardest step and the most useful one.
- Call 14416. That is Tele-MANAS, a free mental-health line run by the Government of India, open at any hour and answered in many languages.
- Ask Drem’s support, inside the platform, what tools it offers for limiting or closing an account.
- Remove the app and any saved payment details while you take a break.
The rest of this site is about playing well. This page matters more, because playing well includes knowing when not to play. The glossary explains terms such as chasing and tilt.
